THE STATEMENT OF FORUM UMAT ISLAM SURABAYA UNTUK PALESTINA (FUISP)

“Stop the Military Aggression by Israeli Zionists on Palestine, Immediately !!”

Bismillaahirrahmaanirrahiim, Laa ilaaha illa ALLah, Muhammadur RasuuluLLah. Allohumma sholi ‘alaa Sayyidinaa Muhammadin wa ‘alaa aalihi wa dzurriyyatihi wa ashhaabihi wa man tabi’ahum ilaa yaumiddin

For the umpteenth time, the Zionist Israel has carried out a military aggression against Palestine, which resulted in hundreds of Palestinians being killed and thousands more injured. This year, the Zionist Israeli attack on East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, where Muslims are focusing on fasting. This military aggression has sparked criticism from world leaders and demonstrations in various parts of the world, both Muslim and non-Muslim countries.

The Israeli – Palestinian conflict is more than a century old. There are two historical events that led to the Zionist occupation of Israel against Palestine. First, the Sykes-Picot Agreement (1916) between Britain and France which divided the legacy of the Ottoman Caliphate in the territory of the Arabian-peninsula. Second, the Balfour Declaration (1917) which supports the existence of a “National Home for the Jews” in Palestine. In the Balfour Declaration it emphasized “… nothing should be done to harm the civil and religious rights of the non-Jewish community in Palestine”.

However, in its development, the Israeli state stood on the land of Palestine as a manifestation of the ideas of the world Zionist movement. Zionist Israel, for more than 50 years, has continued to carry out aggression and consolidate its occupation of Palestine. The Jewish nation, which was originally a minority, has now become the majority, and displaces and oppresses the Palestinians.

Observing the Israeli military aggression that has become increasingly brutal in recent days, Forum Umat Islam Surabaya untuk Palestina (FUISP) hereby states the following:

• First, strongly condemns the barbarity of the Zionist Israel which carries out savage attacks against Muslims in Palestine, and causes massive damage and casualties. For whatever reason, this military aggression carried out by Zionist Israel cannot be justified, either based on international law or religious (Islamic) law. Therefore, the military aggression by the Zionist Israel must stop immediately.
• Second, in fact this military aggression is a recurring event, and it further confirms the existence of Zionist Israel as a real terrorist. So far, allegations of terrorism and the issue of terrorism have always been directed at Muslims, despite the fact that Muslims have always been victims of acts of terrorism.
• Third, to urge the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to provide real support for the realization of Palestinian independence as mandated by the 1945 Constitution, by actively carrying out diplomacy and defense of Palestine as well as by sending armies to liberate Palestine from Israeli occupation.
• Fourth, to urge leaders, soldiers and military forces from all Islamic countries to stir-up jihad fi sabilillah, to defend the rights of Palestinian Muslims. Because only with jihad, the honor of the Palestinian people can be realized, Palestinian independence can be achieved, and Palestine is liberated from Israeli occupation.
• Fifth, invite all Muslims, both from Ulama, Scholars, Intellectuals, Politicians, Businessmen, Advocates, Activists, and other community leaders, to unite to provide support and defense to the Palestinian people, both moral, material and spiritual, on the basis of Islamic brotherhood.
  Sixth, calling on ulama/scholars/prayer to raise the theme of oppression and acts of violence by the Zionist Israel against the Palestinian people, in lectures, sermons and ta’lim forum, as a form of concern for fellow Muslims.
• Seventh, invite all Muslims to be serious and earnest in fighting for Islamic law, so that Muslims have strength in Islamic unity, namely unity based on the same Islamic aqidah. This is because only Islamic law which applied in the framework of the Caliphate, which can protect the honor of Muslims in all corners of the world.

Rasulullah Muhammad PBUH said:
“A Muslim is a brother to other Muslims. It is not allowed to do wrong and not leave it to people who want to hurt it. Whoever pays attention to the needs of his brother, Allah will pay attention to his needs. Whoever clears up the difficulties of a Muslim, surely Allah will clear up his difficulties on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever covers the mistakes of a Muslim, surely Allah will cover his mistakes one day on the Day of Resurrection.” (Narrated by Bukhari Muslim).

Hasbunallah wa ni’mal wakiil, ni’mal maula wa ni’man nashiir. Allahu akbar…Allahu akbar…Allahu akbar !!
